Meet Our Nurse Practitioner

Stephanie Westphal, MSN, WHNP-BC
We are proud to announce the addition of Stephanie Westphal, Nurse Practitioner to our office.
Stephanie is a registered nurse who received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing, from the University of Michigan in 2006, where she graduated with honors. She went on to achieve her Masters of Science in Nursing from Wayne State University in 2009 where she specialized as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP). She is nationally certified through the National Certification Corporation (NCC) within her specialty.
Stephanie has been working in our office with Dr. Afsari as Registered Nurse Clinician from 2007 to the present and is proud to announce the expansion of her role to Nurse Practitioner. Previously, Stephanie has worked as a labor and delivery/ postpartum nurse in the Saginaw and Flint areas. As a nurse practitioner she can provide the following services to women across their lifespan in collaboration and consultation with Dr. Afsari:
- Comprehensive physical examination and health assessment, routine Pap Smears
- Promotion and maintenance of health
- Prevention of illness and disability
- Diagnosis of health/illness status
- Infertility Monitoring
- Management of health care during common acute and stable chronic illnesses
- Health counseling and guidance
- Referral to other health care providers and community resources
- Prescription and/or administration of medications, therapeutic devices and measures
- Ordering and interpreting lab tests and X-rays
Stephanie will be available for appointments beginning October, 2009
